Nuclear Free Queensland (NFQ) is a joint initiative of the Queensland Nuclear Free Alliance, the Queensland Conservation Council and Friends of the Earth Brisbane. Nuclear Free Queensland (NFQ) was established to fill the gap in the public discourse. NFQ believe that the nuclear cycle from uranium to power to weapons can never be sustainable. We work to see the end of the industry in all its guises, but with a specific focus on stopping uranium mining in this state.
Queensland Nuclear Free Alliance (QNFA): Representing a wide range of issues, the Queensland Nuclear Free Alliance has been set up to develop a Queensland-focused response to the Howard government and international push for nuclear expansion. Members include: The Medical Association for the Prevention of War (MAPW), Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), Citizen’s Against Depleted Uranium Use (CADUU), Shoalwater Awareness Group (SWAG), Just Peace, Friends of the Earth Brisbane (FoEB), The Sunshine Coast Environment Centre (SCEC), The Brisbane Region Environment Council (BREC), The Brisbane Peace Convergence (PC), Everyone for a Nuclear Free Future (ENuFF) Brisbane, Queensland Democrats, Queensland Greens and The Wilderness Society (QLD).
